The story behind the shot #2 / by Justin Gage

IMG_7457_pp.jpg

This shoot is acctually a couple years old. I shot it with a Canon Rebel T3i and kit lens. The colored lights were 60W slave flash bulbs (the kinks you get in the 50$ first photography studio kit) with color plastic  as gels.
As much as today there is allot I would have changed technically, in allot of ways this is the genisis of me finding my esthetic.
Despite the entry level quality of the camera I used this photo shows printed 90 x60 cm next to some of my more recent work.

Two main things were birthed back then that have stayed key in my photography #1 the emphasis on styling and preparing the shot. In my own projects i like to do this with recycled materiel #2 constant interaction and communication with the model
